In spite of declaring itself neutral, on May 10, 1940 the Netherlands was invaded and later occupied by German troops.
After July 21, 1941 every authorized printer had to be recognizable by means of an identification number 'Kennummer' in Dutch. The identification number, called K-number and shown below by the red arrow, had to appear on every type of printing, including wine labels.
